The roofs are in place on Block 1 and the ground floor panels have commenced on Block 2. Block 2 will now continue in the same manner as Block 1 floor by floor.

 

 

The timber frame continues on Block 1 and we have the roof installed onto the 3-storey side of the block. Below are some photographs taken from the top of the block showing panorama shots of the area with block 2 shown waiting for the start of the timber frame. The concrete structure of the lift shaft will start to be enveloped with the timber kit at the end of next week.

We hope you all enjoyed the May Day bank holiday that came with good weather for a change! Tuesday after the bank holiday we installed the 2nd floor wall panels to plots 10 & 11 together with the communal walls and lifted the roof trusses for Plots 9 & 12 into position. The progress has continued throughout the week culminating Friday with installation of the floor cassettes to Plots 13 & 14 and lifting wall panels into position on Plot 12. The main structure is now nearing completion on Block 1 and we hope that by the end of next week all of the roofs will be in place.

 

 

Block 1 is progressing with the timber frame and we have constructed the 1st floor walls and placed the 2nd floor cassettes. The fire barriers are being fitted as the building progresses and can be viewed on the photographs as the red polythene. The red bags contain a mineral wool fire protection material. Block 2 has had the gas protection membrane fitted and insulation. A concrete floor screed is also now placed that will form the ground floor of the apartments.
