Thank you to all our neighbours for their continuing patience whilst our works continue. A crane has been working on site Monday & Friday this week to install the ground to first floor construction of the timber frame on block 1. This will proceed with regular crane visits over the next few weeks whilst we construct the block, floor by floor, and ultimately place the roof into position. There will be large deliveries coming to site on articulated vehicles whilst this work continues and we will continue to monitor these to cause the least disruption possible.

We have installed the tarmac road base that we mentioned in the last post and are now on with erecting the scaffolding to allow the timber frame to commence next week around Block 1. Over on Block 2 the Beam & Block floor is being installed with the use of a crane.

The road formation is now well underway and we will be looking to place the tarmac road base on the site by the end of the week. The kerb race is formed using a specialist steel shutter and then concrete is placed within the shutter to form the base off which the kerb will be installed. The timber soleplate is also being fitted onto the slab which will form the base from which the timber frame will be constructed.

The lead up to the Easter break started with the site covered in snow - as shown in the picture.
After we had assessed the safety and removed snow from the road and walkway areas, we were able to continue with drainage on the main site road. Once the drainage was completed we could look to get the road construction under way.

The road is rolled flat and a suitable material is then used to take the level of the new road to its new formation level.
